This gorgeous rental in Tahoe Donner-Truckee is a beautifully furnished three-bedroom, two and a half bathroom free standing Town Home. The upper level has a large, sunny living/dining area and gourmet kitchen equipped for dinner parties, a half bathroom and a large master suite with private bathroom including soaker tub and TV. The lower level has 2 bedrooms - one with 2 single beds and the other with a Queen bed. Each room has a TV and shares a bathroom down the hall. This rental has a cozy gas woodstove, high-speed wireless internet access (no router), gas BBQ (summers only) and a 1 car garage.
This home is adjacent to Tahoe Donner's cross country and downhill ski trails and minutes to water sports, appealing to both winter and summer activities. (*Internet connection and Cable cannot be guaranteed in the mountains.)
This wonderful vacation rental sleeps 7 people- king, queen, 3 twin beds, including a twin-sized pull out bed (Not recommended for an adult). There is a deluxe air mattress available as well.
Tahoe Donner is a wonderful, mountainous resort community with its own small downhill ski area, a fantastic cross country ski center, a sledding hill, equestrian center, small market/deli, and two Recreation Centers. Each Rec Center offers hot tubs, heated pool, fitness center, saunas, health spa, tennis courts, massage services and family activities. There's also a Golf Club with an 18-hole course and driving range, a full-service public restaurant (The Lodge at Tahoe Donner), and a private beach on Donner Lake.
Tahoe Donner is conveniently situated at the upper west end of Truckee. It is 5 minutes to downtown shopping and restaurants, and 10-30 minutes to ski area resorts including Tahoe Donner, Northstar at Tahoe, Squaw, Alpine Meadows, Sugarbowl, Soda Spring, Donner Ski Ranch, and Royal Gorge Cross Country Center.
This rental includes access cards for the Tahoe Donner Recreation Center resident amenities. A nominal charge applies for some activities.

More kitchen stuff needed

We enjoyed our stay for the most part - the home was certainly not huge, but it was more than adequate. Can't say enough good things about the location - it was such a treat to ski right out the door and not have to get in the car at the end of a long day of skiing. Our main issues were with the kitchen (which was not 'gourmet'). There were NO wine glasses; even if owners don't drink many people do and the appropriate glasses are a minimal requirement. We also needed a mixer to make whip cream and had to do it by hand with a very small whisk. The pots and pans seemed pretty adequate - but there was a very minimal supply of utensils. I'd also just say that if people were really going to cook a 'dinner party' as advertised, they should not expect to have more than 1 or 2 people in the kitchen at once - pretty small! Anyway, except for the small kitchen, other things are very fixable; and location is great!

We had some issues - not overridging our stay, nonetheless, issues. There were spiders everywhere. And, these were not "dead" or recently deceased...these were live and active. The lower adults bedroom (w/queen sized bed was the most interesting in that it had webs that we actually took as some sort of "guazy" coverlet at first glance - when we went to move it, "it" (several spiders) took off in several directions. Found spiders in all bathrooms, kitchen, living room area...heck everywhere. Immediately set off for a store where we purchased bug spray to take care of the problem. We found the amount of clothing (children's) in the lower bedroom really hampered our ability to "unpack" our grandchildren's items and made us wonder if the people who owned this "villa" had not wanted someone to use this bedroom. The vaccuum cleaner was a joke - did not work at all. We found someone else's comment sheet remaining in the container on the kitchen counter - making us wonder if anyone actually cared about really doing a thorough investigation of the property when the previous "tenants" had vacated. It was also interesting that these people had had an experience similar to ours. This is a gorgeous spot that simply needed a really good cleaning and some bug spray to stop the local spiders from setting up housekeeping.

Thank you for the review, we appreciate any feedback from our guests. Every house in Tahoe will have the odd spider even new homes. None are harmful in any way and it is impossible to eradicate them all - even if you live in the home full time. Unfortunately spiders are a fact of life in a mountain environment like Tahoe. We have passed on your comments to the owner regarding the children's clothes and the vaccuum cleaner. Remember, when you vacation rent a home you are renting a family's second home and so they will have some personal effects there.
